About the artist
Michael works exclusively in black and white, as he doesn't like to be confined by colour. He finds it liberating to work with just light and dark, as it focuses his attention on form and composition.
Creativity is a strong theme throughout his work, with recurring depictions of light bulbs, brains and the infinity symbol, representing his desire to think differently. Many of the works feature animals — serendipitous compositions that started out as a sketch and later morphed into a creature.
Michael is from Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He studied Art at Notre Dame College under Pat Leadley and Neil Geldhill, who taught him to stay focused and have standards. He currently lives in Valencia.
